Devotion for Sunday, October 6, 2019

“Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and Your dominion endures
throughout all generations.  The Lord
sustains all who fall and raises up all who are bowed down.”  (Psalm 145:13-14)

In the mystery of this fallen
world, the Lord foreknows those who will come by grace into His eternal and
loving arms.  He also knows the ones who
will continue in rebellion.  It is not a
matter of getting things right, for no one is able.  It is a matter of trusting the One who made
all things.  Come into the presence of
the Lord and know that in Him are promises which are fulfilled to bring true
life.

Lord, help me to see through the mess of this age and know that only in
Your presence is it possible to see the life that You give.  Lift me up, for I have fallen.  Guide me along the paths of righteousness
according to Your Word.  Lead me in the
way You know I need to go that I might abide now, and forever walk humbly in
Your presence.  Show me how to be
righteous even as You are righteous.

Lord Jesus, You have come to
establish Your everlasting kingdom through grace and mercy.  Teach me Your ways and lead me to follow them.  Break through the noise of this age and help
me always to see that You alone know all that is needed.  Lift me up and set my feet on the path You
know I need to walk.  Let me live in Your
dominion and follow You all the days of my life.  Amen.

Devotion for Saturday, October 5, 2019

“All Your works shall give thanks to You, O Lord, and Your godly ones
shall bless You.  They shall speak of the
glory of Your kingdom and talk of Your power; to make known to the sons of men
Your mighty acts and the glory of the majesty of Your kingdom.”  (Psalm 145:10-12)

The Lord has accounted for all
things.  All things will work together
for good for those who love the Lord.
Yes, there are difficult times and events, but what is it the Lord does
not already know about?  Trust in the
Lord always and see that in Him alone is goodness and mercy, and know that the
Lord will cover all things.  Trust in Him
above all things, for He alone is God.

Lord, on this journey of faith, there are things that happen that I do
not understand.  Help me to not stumble
because of my inability to understand and to trust You above all things.  Grant me faith amidst difficulties to see
that in You alone is hope and an eternal future.  You alone are able to accomplish all that
needs to be done.  Lead me, O Lord, in
the way of everlasting life now and always.

Lord Jesus, You have already
accomplished salvation for as many as believe.
Lead me this day and every day in the way of truth.  Guide me in the way You know I need to go.  Keep me on the path of faith that I would
forever abide in You and You in me.  Lead
me each step of the way to trust that You have accomplished all that needs to
be done.  Grant my faith to be evident as
I journey with You.  Amen.

Devotion for Friday, October 4, 2019

“The Lord is gracious and merciful; slow to anger and great in
lovingkindness.  The Lord is good to all,
and His mercies are over all His works.”
(Psalm 145:8-9)

It is good the Lord is slow to
anger.  He has been patient with
humanity.  He is awaiting the number of
those who are and will be His forever.
Learn from the Lord and trust that all things are in His hands.  Be guided by the goodness of His mercy and know
that He is accomplishing what He has purposed.
Come into His presence to be guided by Him now and forever and live with
Him.

Lord, in this mixed up world I see so many variances and so much
anger.  Sin causes grief and
heartache.  Guide me in Your ways that I
too would be slow to anger and abounding in Your steadfast love.  Lead me by Your grace and mercy to see
through immediate circumstances and be led by the eternal promises You have
given us all.  Lead me in the way of
salvation and into everlasting life.

Thank You, Lord Jesus, for being
the answer to fallen humanity.  You have
come to lead the way for as many as will follow.  Guide me, O Lord, in the way of everlasting
life.  Lead me according to the Father’s
will to do those things which are pleasing in His sight.  May I now and always take Your lead in every
situation and do things in a way that is right, fitting, and abounding with
Your love.  Amen.

Devotion for Thursday, October 3, 2019

“On the glorious splendor of Your majesty and on Your wonderful works,
I will meditate.  Men shall speak of the
power of Your awesome acts, and I will tell of Your greatness.  They shall eagerly utter the memory of Your
abundant goodness and will shout joyfully of Your righteousness.”  (Psalm 145:5-6)

The faithful speak, act and
display the truth of the Lord in their lives in and through all they do.  In Him they have the abundant life that comes
through salvation.  The faithful of the
Lord live in the hope that is theirs through what the Lord has done.  We all are invited into the life of
righteousness that comes to those who follow in the Lord’s footsteps and take
up the new life He gives.

Lord, lead me in the way of salvation.
Guide me according to Your goodness to see that in You is the hope and
glory for all people.  Lead me to be one
of those whose light shines through all I say and do.  Guide me, O Lord, in the way of righteousness
that I may walk in the way of Christ my Savior.
Help me not so much see in order to believe, but believe and then see
that the life You give is eternal.

Lord Jesus, You have walked this
earth to show the way, for You are the way, that all who believe would walk in
the light of Your countenance.  Guide me,
O Lord, in the way of righteousness that I may now and always abide in You and
You in me.  May I be found in Your
presence and purpose now and forever.
Lead me, my Savior, in the way You know I need to go.  Amen.

Devotion for Wednesday, October 2, 2019

“Great is the Lord, and highly to be praised, and His greatness is
unsearchable.  One generation shall
praise Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts.”  (Psalm 145:3-4)

The generations come and go, but
the Lord is forever.  He sees the passing
generations and knows all who walk before Him.
He who knows you has called you to come to Him.  He is your God and He wants you to be with
Him now and forever.  Come into the
presence of the One who made all things and walk humbly before your Maker.  He is God and there is no other.

Lord, amidst all of the thoughts that go through my mind, guide me to
see that only in You is there meaning.
You created all things and You know all things.  Apart from Your revelation,  there is only speculation.  The speculations of man have come to
nothing.  Guide me, O Lord, in the way of
truth that I may walk humbly with You and learn from You the purpose for which
I have been made.

Lord Jesus, Guide me now and
always in the way of salvation which You have established.  Help me to see that in You alone is hope and
an eternal future.  Lead me this day to
do those things which are pleasing in the Father’s sight.  Help me to be active in all that You are
teaching me and guided by Your Spirit.
May I be Your follower this day, serving the Father in thought, word,
and deed.  Amen.

Devotion for Tuesday, October 1, 2019

“I will extol You, my God, O King, and I will bless Your name forever
and ever.  Every day I will bless You,
and I will praise Your name forever and ever.”
(Psalm 145:1-2)

The Lord has created us to be people
of praise.  We will praise that which is
important to us.  We will extol those
things we consider important.  We were
created to serve and to praise.  Everyone
does this.  It is a matter of what you
will serve and praise.  Come into the
presence of the Lord who is forever and worship Him alone.  He is the One who is worthy of all honor and
praise.

Come, Holy Spirit, and teach me to praise you always.  Teach me to find the joy You give and live a
life of praise.  You have wonderfully
knit me together and I have purpose, but only in the truth will I find
everlasting purpose.  Guide me, O Lord,
in the way of righteousness that I would forever walk in the way of truth.  Lead me to live a life of praise now and
forever.

Lord Jesus, You have taught us
that we can do nothing apart from You.
You have shown that in Your salvation is the way of life.  Guide me into a life of service and
praise.  Lead me into the way of
everlasting life.  Teach me the things I
need to know that I may now and always abide in the way You have
established.  Help me to overcome all
obstacles that I may learn from You how to live the true life You have
created.  Amen.

Devotion for Monday, September 30, 2019

“Sculptured in palace style; that our barns may be full, supplying all
kinds of produce; that our sheep may bring forth thousands and ten thousands in
our fields; that our oxen may be well laden; that there be no breaking in or
going out; that there be no outcry in our streets.  Happy are the people who are in such a state;
happy are the people whose God is the Lord!”
(Psalm 144:12b-15)

The Lord has provided such
abundance and we have experienced a time where these things are true and yet
the people are not happy.  It is not the
abundance of things that bring joy to people, but the Lord who is the provider
of all things that brings joy, Come into the presence of the Lord and know the
goodness of His grace and mercy that You may have the truly abundant life.

Lord, teach me that it is not what I have nor what I experience that
determines who I am, but You who provides all things.  Guide me, O Lord, in the way of everlasting
life that I would now and forever abide in You as You abide in me.  Guide me according to Your goodness to see
that in You alone is the hope of all the ages.
Lead me, O Lord, in the way of eternal life.

Lord Jesus, You are the way,
truth and life.  Lead me in the way You
have established that I may now and always walk according to the Word You have
given.  Guide me day by day to live the
life You have demonstrated that I may always abide in You and see made true the
promise that You will abide in me.  Guide
me, O Lord, now and always to walk in Your example and experience the true
abundance of eternal life.  Amen.

Devotion for Sunday, September 29, 2019

“Rescue me and deliver me from the hand of foreigners, whose mouth
speaks lying words, and whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood – that
our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as
pillars,” (Psalm 144:11-12a)

There are those in the world who
speak with lying tongues.  Their mouths
are full of deceit.  It may be
politically incorrect to say there are liars, but the Lord has declared that
there are those who will not abide by the truth.  You, however, have the words of eternal life
before you.  Will you walk in the way of
truth or in the way of those who speak with deceitful tongues?

Lord, open my ears to hear the truth.
Guide me according to Your goodness to see that in You alone is all that
is needed.  Guide me according to Your
goodness to walk in the way of the righteous.
Lead me according to Your will to live the kind of life that Your grace
calls me to, that I may be upright in Your sight.  Help me now and always to see that in You
alone is all hope.

Come, Holy Spirit, and minister
to my heart that I may see the goodness of the way of salvation.  Lead me in righteousness for Your sake that I
may learn humbly from You.  Let the words
of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in Your sight.  Guide me now and always to live into the life
to which I have been called by grace.
Lead me, Holy Spirit, in the way of life.  Amen.

Devotion for Saturday, September 28, 2019

“I will sing a new song to You, O God; on a harp of ten strings I will
sing praises to You, the One who gives salvation to kings, who delivers David
His servant from the deadly sword.”
(Psalm 144:9-10)

The Lord is the deliverer.  It is He who shall save His people.  Come into the presence of the Lord and know
the salvation He prepared beforehand for those who come to Him.  Come, walk under the grace of the Lord who
has prepared these things.  From the
snare of the fowler and the deadly pestilence, the Lord will save those who
trust in Him.  Walk in the salvation of
the Lord.

Lord, I look around and the world seems so busy with people scurrying
to and fro.  Guide me through the mess of
this world that I may walk humbly with You my God and Savior.  Lead me in the way You would have me go that
I may now and always walk according to Your will.  Lead me in the way of righteousness that I
may forever be bound to You, the One Who makes all things possible.

Lord Jesus, You have come that we
may have life and have it abundantly.
Lead me, O Lord, in the way of righteousness.  Show me the way You know I need to go that I
may forever abide in You and You in me.
Help me now and always to see that in You alone is the hope of glory and
that in You alone is there salvation.
Lead me this day in Your grace according to the Father’s will.  Amen.

Devotion for Friday, September 27, 2019

“Stretch out Your hand from above; rescue me and deliver me out of great waters, from the hand of foreigners, whose mouth speaks lying words, and whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood.”  (Psalm 144:7-8)

The Lord will protect those who
turn to Him.  Do not be guided by the
constant noise of this world, but by the goodness and truth of the Word of the
Lord.  Know that in Him alone are the
words of life.  Yes, the world constantly
speaks lies.  The Lord always speaks
truth.  Be guided now and always by the
One who made all things and knows all things; in Him alone is there true life.

Lord, I am often confused by the things I hear.  Guide me, O Lord, in the way of life.  Lead me according to Your goodness to see
that in You alone is hope and a future that is forever.  Lead me to live in this age as You direct and
prepare to become like Christ in all things.
Guide me now and always in the way of salvation which You have prepared in
the sight of all people.

Thank You Lord Jesus that You have made the way possible for as many as believe.  Guide me now and always in the way of true life.  Lead me in the upward way that I may always follow Your example.  Help me in times of difficulty and doubt that I may overcome the lies and deceit of this world.  In You alone do I find salvation.  Show me, Lord Jesus, the way of truth.  Amen.
