Devotion for Wednesday, November 6, 2019

“Praise Him with loud cymbals; Praise Him with clashing cymbals!  Let everything that has breath praise the
Lord.  Praise the Lord!”  (Psalm 150:5-6)

Everything created belongs to
the One who made all things.  He is
gracious and giving and has granted that all we need has been provided.  Do not cling to what is created, but to the
One who made all things.  In Him is life,
liberty and completeness.  Come into His
presence with praise and thanksgiving.
Know that in the Lord, all things necessary shall be provided, and that
in Him is joy.

Lord, teach me to live a life of praise and thanksgiving.  Guide me according to Your goodness to see
that in You is the hope for all people.
May I learn to live life in such a way that in and through all things it
is evident that I look to You.  Let my praise
be noisy and obvious.  Let who I am in
You be apparent to all whom I meet.  Lead
me in the way of righteousness now and always.

Lord Jesus, You have come to show
the way, and by ascending and sending the Spirit, You have provided all that is
needed to become like You in looking to the Father for all things.  Guide me, O Lord, according to the
righteousness granted by Your grace that I may live into the purpose for which
I have been created, Help me now and always to follow Your lead and go where
You send me.  Amen.

Devotion for Tuesday, November 5, 2019

“Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet; praise Him with the lute and
harp!  Praise Him with the timbrel and dance;
praise Him with stringed instruments and flutes!”  (Psalm 150:3-4)

Make a joyful noise unto the
Lord.  Sing a song, for the Lord delights
in those who sing from their hearts.
Give thanks to the Lord in all circumstances and be one who knows that Lord
is leading you all the days of your life.
Come to the Lord and be grateful that He has called you by name and
knows the plans He has for you.  Join the
dance of creation and live in the Lord’s presence.

Lord, You have taught me many things, but knowledge is not the answer
to life.  You have given me many
promises, but they are not the reason I live.
It is for You, in You and through You that I have my being.  Draw me closer to You, O Lord, that I would
now and always walk humbly with You my Maker and live in harmony with Your will.  Guide me in the way of life, O Lord.

Lord Jesus, You have come to show
the way of life for all who have come in faith and know that through You we
have our being.  Lead me in the way of
salvation that I would now and always abide in You and You in me.  Guide me according to the goodness of Your
grace to be one who worships in spirit and in truth, giving thanks for all that
You are and have done.  Amen.

Devotion for Monday, November 4, 2019

“Praise the Lord!  Praise God in
His sanctuary; praise Him in His mighty firmament!  Praise Him for His mighty acts; praise Him
according to His excellent greatness!”
(Psalm 150:1-3)

The sanctuary of the Lord is the
Lord Himself.  Why do you trust in
created things when the Lord, who is forever, is your strength and refuge.  Come into the presence of the Lord and abide
in the safety of His presence now and forever.
Know that He who made all things knows the plans He has for those who
are His.  Praise Him for the mighty acts
He has and will do.

Lord, teach me to look beyond today in order to know that it is You who
is guiding me all the days of our lives.
All time is in Your hands.  Guide
me, O Lord, in the way of truth that I may abide with You now and forever.  Lead me according to Your purposes to see
that in You is the hope before us all.
Lead me and I will follow.  Lead
me to abide now and always with You.

Jesus, You promised that if we
abide in You, You will abide in us.  Help
me learn, understand and live in this truth.
Lead me to see that in You alone is the hope for all people of every
age.  Teach me to know that regardless of
the circumstances of this age, You are always with me and will guide me through
all of life.  You are my Lord and
Savior.  Guide me today and always.  Amen.

Devotion for Sunday, November 3, 2019

“To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; to execute on them the written judgment – this honor have all His saints.  Praise the Lord!”  (Psalm 149:8-9)

The seasons come and go.  Rulers rise, wane, and then fall.  In this age we become excited over the events
of the day and emotions can cloud our judgement.  The reality is that the Lord is the Lord of
all.  Everything falls under His
purview.  Do not fear the tyrant of
today, but love the Maker of all days.
Trust in Him above all things and know that it is He alone who can
fulfil all of His promises.

Lord, teach me to trust You above all things.  Guide me in the way of life that I may now
and forever abide in the hope You give me.
All of time is in Your hands and apart from You there is nothing I need
fear.  Troubles may come today, but You
are still God.  Help me to trust always
in Your provision, knowing that all You allow has purpose for Your saints, and
lead me to trust You in every situation.

Lord Jesus, You have given Your Word and You have given promises.  Yes, trouble may come, but You are with us every step of the way.  Lead me, O Lord, to see that in You alone is the hope of salvation.  Guide me according to Your Word to know that in You I can rest in Your peace that surpasses my understanding.  Lead me this day to trust in the provision You have given knowing that all things rest in the Father’s hands. Amen.

Devotion for Saturday, November 2, 2019

“Let the saints be joyful in glory; let them sing aloud on their
beds.  Let the high praises of God be in
their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand, to execute vengeance on the
nations, and punishments on the peoples;” (Psalm 149:5-7)

The Word of the Lord is a
two-edged sword.  It shall not come back
void when the Lord speaks.  Live out the
Word and let it be on your lips day and night.
Come into the Lord’s presence and speak aloud the truth He has given
you.  Sing with psalms and hymns and be
not silent.  The Lord has called you,
redeems you and by His Holy Spirit sends you to the four corners of the earth.

Lord, all I need has already been provided.  Guide me according to Your goodness to live
now and forever in Your presence.  Lead
me according to Your Word to speak boldly in a world filled hostility against
You.  Open my mouth that I may speak of
the news of great joy which You have given through Your salvation.  Let my life be a song to You in thanksgiving
now and forever.

Come, Holy Spirit, and take away
the hindrances that get in the way of me expressing the faith You have given
me.  Lead me away from all temptation
that I may now and always walk humbly in Your presence.  Guide me according to Your goodness to see that
in You and Your guidance is a good life that can be lived boldly.  Lead me this day and every day in the truth
of the Word already spoken.  Amen.

Devotion for Friday, November 1, 2019

“Let them praise His name with the dance; let them sing praises to Him
with the timbrel and harp.  For the Lord
takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the humble with salvation.”  (Psalm 149:3-4)

We are creatures that love
sound, movement, and activity.  The Lord
has created us to be as we are.  Come
into the Lord’s presence as You are and then live the life to which He calls
you.  You do not exist for yourself, but
have been created in the image of the One who made You and for His
purpose.  Know that in the Lord alone is
there true life and liberty.  He calls
you unto Himself.

Lord, I am a created being and You have called me to walk according to
the purpose for which I have been created.
Guide me, O Lord, in the way of salvation that I would now and always
walk according to Your purposes.  Teach
me those purposes and how to faithfully live them out in this life.  Show me Your purposes for my life and help me
to walk humbly in the salvation You have prepared.

Lord Jesus, Redeemer of the
world, guide me according to the Father’s will this day that I would live into
the life for which You have called me.
May I be humble and submit to Your authority and be guided by Your
Spirit.  Lead me, O Lord, and help me to
follow that I would live the life of praise and thanksgiving to which I have
been called.  Let my life be a dance of
joy in Your presence.  Amen.

Devotion for Thursday, October 31, 2019

“Praise the Lord!  Sing to the Lord a new song, and His praise in the assembly of saints.  Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.”  (Psalm 149:1-2)

Those who are living in the
redemption of salvation are called to learn to live a life of praise and
thanksgiving.  Come into the presence of
the Lord and offer your life as a thank offering to Him for all of His goodness
and mercy.  Know that it is the Lord who
has redeemed you and thank Him for all that He does for what He has
created.  Assemble with others and offer
praise to the Lord.

Lord, as a sinful human I am often contentious.  Lead me O Lord in the way of truth that I may
now and always gather with those who praise You and offer my praise.  Teach me what I need to know that I may be
guided by Your Spirit to live a life that is filled with Your grace, mercy and
peace.  Lead me to praise You at all
times, giving thanks for all that You have done for Your creation.

Lord Jesus, You have come into
the world that through You we may have life and have it abundantly.  Lead me in the way of Your salvation that I
would live this day giving thanks and praise to You.  Help me now and always to gather with those
whom You appoint and live together in community as You shape and form us into
Your image.  May I learn to be faithful
to Your calling.  Amen.

Devotion for Wednesday, October 30, 2019

“Let them praise the name of the Lord, for His name alone is exalted;
His glory is above the earth and heaven.
And He has exalted the horn of His people, the praise of all His saints
– of the children of Israel, a people near to Him. Praise the Lord!”  (Psalm 148:13-14)

No matter the circumstances in
this world, the Lord is still the One who has made all things.  No matter what people say, the Lord is still
the One who has put all things in their proper order.  No matter what people do, the Lord is worthy
of all praise and honor.  Look to the One
through whom all things have their being and be led by Him in a life filled
with praise and thanksgiving.

Lord, teach me to worship.  Let
me not be carried away with the opinions of men, but led by Your Word of
truth.   Guide me in a proper life of
praise that I may humbly walk in Your presence.
Guide me according to Your purposes that I may now and always abide in
You and You in me.  Lift me up out of the
noise of this world to stand now and always in Your presence.

Lead me, Holy Spirit, throughout
the day to ponder and reflect upon the goodness and majesty of all that has
been created.  Then lead me to worship
the One who has caused all things to be.
Teach me to worship in spirit and truth and guide me according to Your
eternal purposes.  Show me the way of
everlasting life that I may now and always abide in Your guidance and
presence.  Amen.

Devotion for Tuesday, October 29, 2019

“Kings of the earth and all peoples; princes and all judges of the
earth; both young men and maidens; old men and children.”  (Psalm 148:11-12)

The Lord God made them all.  He created us to be a people of praise and
thanksgiving.  Many spend their time on
other pursuits, but we all praise that which is important to us.  Come into the presence of the Lord and praise
Him above all things.  No matter who you
are or what your ability, you have the ability to praise the Lord.  Lift up your hearts and worship the Lord your
God.

Lord, You know that I do not need to learn how to praise.  I do it all the time with things, people and
circumstances that are important to me and move me.  Lead me to see that in You alone is my praise
made complete.  Guide me, O Lord,
according to Your purpose that I would now and always praise You above all
things and walk in the way for which I have been created that I may now and
always abide with You.

Lord Jesus, You have taught us that
it is not just the place of worship that counts, for the Father desires us to
worship in spirit and in truth wherever we are.
Guide me, O Lord, to learn to praise and worship You always wherever I
am.  Guide me to use this gift You have
given in the way it was meant to be used.
Lead me in a life of praise and thanksgiving that I may be a person of
faithful and willing praise of You.
Amen.

Devotion for Monday, October 28, 2019

“Mountains and all hills; fruitful trees and all cedars; beasts and all
cattle; creeping things and flying fowl;” (Psalm 148:9-10)

In season, each of the trees God
created bear their fruit.  In season,
each of the plants and animals follow what the Lord has created for them to
do.  Each has their part in the created
order of things.  In the simplicity of
what we see every day, what the Lord has created brings continued life into our
world.  Be amazed at all the Lord has
done and be one of His creatures who lives according to His will.

Lord, open my eyes to see what is plainly visible.  Nature follows Your created order of
things.  Keep my eyes on what You have
done to see the overwhelming evidence of what creation has been from the
beginning.  Guide me to see things as
they are and then to see Your hand upon all that You have made.  Teach me to give thanks for the marvels of
Your creation and its order.

Lord Jesus, You have come to lead
the way in living the godly life.  Guide
me according to Your Word to do what is right and fitting.  Help me to see that Your grace is to enable
me to get back on track when I fall away, but that my first call is to simply
be whom You have made me to be according to the Father’s will.  Lead me, O Lord, in the way of goodness and
truth.  Amen.
