“So they came in a hurry and found their way to Mary and Joseph, and the baby as He lay in the manger.  When they had seen this, they made known the statement which had been told them about this Child” (Luke 2:16-17).

The example of freely sharing what was seen and heard is for our edification.  In this world, people keep secrets.  There is nothing hidden that shall not be revealed.  Share what you see and hear.  Amidst the darkness of this world, it is good to hear of those places where the light is shining.  For them, as well as for us, all that this means is still wrapped up in mystery.  God has come to us.

Lord, I have heard the story many times and I know what it says, but the reality of this is still hard to believe.  In this world I want to be somebody, but I know that I am just an ordinary person.  You show up as if I were somebody, but I know that I am not, and why would You come to me.  The very thing I long for is the very thing You are doing.   You, who created all things, have come to me.

Lord Jesus, in the mystery and wonder of Your Incarnation, help me to understand not that I am somebody special, but that I am Your creation in which You have invested Your life.  You are everything, for all things have their being through You.  You have come to finish Your creation in me.  Lead me in the way I need to go so that I may humbly follow You wherever You will lead me.  Amen.
