“The merchants of these things, who became rich from her, will stand at a distance because of the fear of her torment, weeping and mourning” (Revelation 18:15)

Evil does evil without thinking about it until it is confronted.  Profiteers take as much as they can get without thinking about whom they hurt along the way.  How many are riding the cruise ship on the broad sea to hell because they are not thinking about anything but their pleasure?  How sad that so many who can think, do not.  Torment, weeping, and mourning is the result of unthinking, uncaring actions.

After World War II, many guilty perpetrators said, “I was just following orders.”  We go our own way instead of the right way .  Lord, You have created us with minds that can think and reason.  You have offered us, by grace through faith, the ability to come to You and be conformed to the image of Christ.  I can live life my own way or come to You and learn how to be Your child.

Lord Jesus, I do need to be saved.  Many days I go about my business without thinking about what it means to be a person of faith.  I do not pray, nor read Your word, but merely accept that You have saved me.  But I still need saving because I do not think and put into action those things You have given me to do.  Lead me out of this pit, Lord, and teach me again how to follow You.  Amen.
