“And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual men, but as to men of flesh, as to infants in Christ.  I gave you milk to drink, not solid food; for you were not yet able to receive it. Indeed, even now you are not yet able, for you are still fleshly.”  (1 Corinthians 3:1-3a)

There is a reality in our spiritual being while upon this earth.  We begin as babes.  Remember, Jesus said we must be born again.  There are many things an infant is unable to do.  But, you are called to mature and in maturity there are things you will be able to do.  We should endeavor therefor to grow in this faith we have been given, knowing that the Lord has a plan for each one of us.

Lord, I become proud and think that I know all I need to know.  One the one hand, I know You are Lord and yes, this is what I need to know.  But on the other hand, You have called for me to grow in wisdom.  Grow me Lord that I would, in You, abide, learn, and gain the wisdom You will impart to me.  Help me not let myself hinder this journey You have placed me upon.

Lord Jesus, You have taught us all that we need to know, yet like small children who must grow up, there are many things yet that I do not know how to do.  Grow me in wisdom that I would be able to live into the greater things You have in mind for me.  By Your leading and in Your grace, do as You will that I may grow in wisdom and understanding, fulfilling the will of the Father.  Amen.
