“O daughter of Babylon, you devastated one, how blessed will be the one who repays you with the recompense with which you have repaid us. How blessed will be the one who seizes and dashes your little ones against the rock.” (Psalm 137:8-9)
Babylon is no more. There is that place of stones that remind us
that it once existed. The Word of the
Lord speaks and tells the truth. What
has come to pass is a witness to us that we may believe the importance to us of
the things that the Word says. Do not
place your hope in the systems of this world, but in the One who created this
world. Be blessed by trusting in the One
who made all things.
Lord, I look at this world and am tossed about by the waves that come
crashing. Lift me up to see that all
things are in Your hands and that one day You will see to it that those who
have done harm come to naught. But let
me trust in what You will do and not in myself.
Guide me, O Lord, according to Your ways that I would be led by You and
the promise of Your Word.
Come Lord Jesus and be my
minister today. Guide me according to
Your Word and the Father’s will to walk humbly in Your presence. Teach me to see things as You see them. Guide me into obedience that I would humbly
obey all that You command. You have
created me for Your purpose and have redeemed me through Your own blood. Guide me in the salvation You have prepared
in the sight of all people. Amen.
