Devotion for Saturday, July 20, 2019

“For I know that the Lord is great and that our Lord is above all
gods.  Whatever the Lord pleases, He
does, in heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deeps.”  (Psalm 135:5-6)

Who can know the mind of the
Lord?  Who can fathom His ways?  All things are possible with God.  Come then and dwell in His presence.  Come and walk in His ways.  Know the Lord, for He knows you.  From the depths and heights He is present and
He who created all things has invited you to come into His presence and dwell
with Him now and forever.  Abide with the
One who made you.

Lord, there things are too deep for me.
Guide me, O Lord, in the way of truth that I would now and forever abide
in the hope You have given.  Lead me ever
deeper and ever higher into the depths and heights of the faith which You have
given me.  Teach me to abide with You
that I may become what You have always intended.  Lead me, O Lord, according to Your goodness.

Lord Jesus, You have come to lead
the way for as many as would follow You.
Help me now and always to see in You the hope of glory.  Open my eyes to see the steps I need to
take.  Guide me in the way You know I
need to go that I would always marvel at the gift You have given me.  Teach me to abide in You as You have
instructed and to walk as You walk.  Lead
me, my Savior.  Amen.

Devotion for Friday, July 19, 2019

“Praise the Lord, for the Lord is good; sing praises to His name, for
it is lovely.  For the Lord has chosen
Jacob for Himself, Israel for His own possession.”  (Psalm 135:3-4)

Do you see the Lord?  Do you see Him in what He has made?  Do you know His presence in all you do?  Look and see.
Open your ears and hear.  Know
that the Lord has made this creation for His own purpose and you are a part of
His purpose.  Be guided by the goodness
of the Lord and walk in His grace and mercy.
Taste and see that the Lord is good.
Draw close to Him and He will draw close to you.

Lord, You are around me all the time.
Your creation speaks of Your glory.
Unstop my ears and open my eyes that I may hear and see.  Guide me into the salvation You have prepared
in the sight of all people.  Keep me on
the path of righteousness for Your name’s sake that I may dwell with You now
and forever.  Through these things, bring
me to the place of praise and thanksgiving.

Lord Jesus, You have accomplished salvation for all those who believe.  Help me to walk humbly with You this day, doing those things which are pleasing in the Father’s sight.  Lift up my countenance that I may now and always live according to Your purposes.  May I see and hear this day Your presence, power, and purpose.  May I lift up praise and thanksgiving in all I do today.  Amen.

Devotion for Thursday, July 18, 2019

“Praise the Lord!  Praise the
name of the Lord; praise Him, O servants of the Lord, you who stand in the
house of the Lord, in the courts of the house of our God!”  (Psalm 135:1-2)

What is the purpose of your
life?  Is it to bring about praise of
your good works?  Is it about the Lord
who made you?  We are reminded that we
are to be a people who praise the Lord in all circumstances and at all
times.  Come then and learn to praise the
Lord in season and out of season.  He who
made all things is worthy of your praise and worship.  See that the Lord is good.

Lord, I have wandered many places in my life and I am often distracted
by the things of this world.  It is not
that I need to flatter You, but rather to learn to properly praise You in and through
all things.  Teach me, O Lord, to live
according to the goodness of Your Word that I may become like Christ and live a
life of praise of You who alone is worthy of all honor, praise and glory.

Lord Jesus, bring me close to You that I may walk alongside You and learn from You.  Guide me in the way of eternal life that my life might become one of continuous praise.  Lead me, O Lord, in the way of life that I would honor all of those around me.  Guide me according to the Father’s purpose to do those things which are pleasing in His sight.  Bring me to see that You alone must be the author and finisher of my faith.  Amen.

Devotion for Wednesday, July 17, 2019

“Behold, bless the Lord, all servants of the Lord, who serve by night
in the house of the Lord!  Lift up your
hands to the sanctuary and bless the Lord.
May the Lord bless you from Zion, He who made heaven and earth.”  (Psalm 134:1-3)

Bless and be a blessing.  Do what the Lord asks of you knowing that He
first did all that is needed for You.
Bless and do not curse.  He Who
made all things made You.  He knows what
He is doing and has called you into His presence.  Come then and be blessed by the One who leads
you forward ever closer into His eternal presence.  Come and do not tarry.  Become like Jesus.

Lord You know all the steps of my life.
Guide me, O Lord, in the way You know I need to go.  Help me this day to overcome those obstacles
that will get in the way.  Lead me
according to Your goodness to see the hope You have given me.  Let me not be hindered, but in all things
move in the way You know I need to move.
Show me by Your goodness how to be in Your will.

Holy Spirit, come minister to my heart that I would walk in the way of Jesus.  You are with me and there to guide me.  Teach me to listen.  Teach me to obey.  Teach me to trust every time You speak.  Come, Holy Spirit, and be my guide that I may this day become more like Jesus.  You are my sanctuary.  You are my guide.  May I bless and not curse this day, following the example of my Lord and Savior, Jesus.  Amen.

Devotion for Tuesday, July 16, 2019

“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together
in unity!  It is like the precious oil upon
the head, coming down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard, coming down upon the
edge of his robes.  It is like the dew of
Hermon coming down upon the mountains of Zion; for there the Lord commanded the
blessing – life forever.”  (Psalm
133:1-3)

How well do you get along with
those around you?  Are you compassionate
and gracious with others as you would like them to be with you?  The Lord desires that we dwell with one
another in peace and unity, not compromising His law or precepts, but so that
we love one another as He loves us.  Come
then to Zion and learn to live according to the righteousness of the Lord.

Lord, teach me to live this way: not asking,” who is my neighbor?”, but
loving whomever I find in my company. But I do not love others as You first
loved me.  Guide me, O Lord, in the way
of righteousness that I would learn to live as You created me to live.  Bring me to Zion that I would dwell in unity
with those who are Yours.  Create in me a
clean and willing heart, O Lord.

Lord Jesus, You have come to lead on the narrow path of righteousness all those who follow You.  Guide me, O Lord, in the way You know I need to go.  Help me now and always to look to You, the author and finisher of my faith. That I would learn from You true righteousness.  Help me through all of the difficulties I will face to become more like You each step of the way.  Amen.

Devotion for Monday, July 15, 2019

“There I will cause the horn of David to spring forth; I have prepared
a lamp for Mine anointed.  “His enemies I
will clothe with shame, but upon himself his crown shall shine.”  (Psalm 132:17-18)

How will you live?  Will you abide in the presence of the Lord
always?  With what will you adorn
yourself?  Will it be the things of the
world or with the Creator of all things?
These are the questions that guide how we live life.  Come then and live into the faith which has
been given you.  Walk in the ways which
have been established by the Lord and know His goodness and mercy.

Lord, You have come that I may learn from You and walk in the eternal
ways You have established.  Guide me, O
Lord, that I may walk in Your grace and mercy.
Lead me that I may now and forever abide with You and You with me.  Crown Your will upon my life that I would
walk in the light of Your countenance and know the goodness You give to those
who are faithful
.

Teach me, Lord Jesus, to walk in all of the ways You have modeled for the faithful.  Lead me in the goodness of Your grace and mercy that I would now and forever abide in You and You in me.  You have come to lead me by grace into faithfulness.  Guide me, O Lord, that I may become more like You this day.  Help me in every way necessary that nothing would hinder me.  Amen.

Devotion for Sunday, July 14, 2019

“This is My resting place forever; here I will dwell, for I have
desired it.  “I will abundantly bless her
provision; I will satisfy her needy with bread.
“Her priests also I will clothe with salvation, and her godly ones will
sing aloud for joy.”  (Psalm 132:14-16)

Where is your resting place?  Do you look to the One who made all things and rest in Him?  The Lord amply provides for those who seek Him.  He will bless you so that you will know the source of life and the provision He gives.  Come to the Lord, for He provides according to His goodness and mercy.  Know the Lord and walk with Him in all of your ways.  He will clothe you with righteousness.

Lord, You know my need and the things I lack.  You know all that must come that I may walk
with You faithfully.  Lead me, O Lord,
according to Your goodness.  Guide me
according to Your will.  Lift me up
according to Your grace.  In all of my
ways, take the lead that I may follow You all the days of my life.  You, O Lord, are the One who must begin and
finish my faith journey.

Lord Jesus, You have come to lead
me in the way of salvation.  You have
authored my faith and it is You alone that must finish it.  Come, O Lord, and lead me this day in all of
Your ways.  Guide me according to the
grace I need to abide in You and learn from You.  Help me each step of the way that I would
learn faithfulness from You.  In You
alone must I trust.  Teach me this today.  Amen.

Devotion for Saturday, July 13, 2019

“If your sons will keep My covenant and My testimony which I will teach
them, their sons also shall sit upon your throne forever.”  For the Lord has chosen Zion; He has desired
it for His habitation.”  (Psalm
132:12-13)

The Lord has chosen Zion.  Who are Zion?
They are the ones who believe and live into the truth that the Lord is
God.  They are the ones who seek after
the Lord.  To them the kingdom has been
promised.  Join with Zion and become as
those who are faithful.  Live as one who
has the promise of the Lord in your heart.
Be guided by His goodness and mercy now and forever.

Lord, I see these things but do not understand them.  Lead me by faith to see that You are working
amidst a world filled with wickedness to give me the life to which You have
called me.  Join me with Zion that I
would live in Your never-failing kingdom.
Guide me according to Your goodness to live each day trusting Your
leading.  May I desire Your habitation
always.

Lord Jesus, to those who believe
You have given the power to become children of God.  By Your resurrection You have promised
eternal life.  Guide me in the way of
Zion.  Lead me according to the Father’s
will.  Help me now and always to see
through the cloud of this world and abide in the truth of Your salvation.  Help me this day to live as a citizen of
Zion.  Amen.

Devotion for Friday, July 12, 2019

“For the sake of David Your servant, do not turn away the face of Your
anointed.  The Lord has sworn to David a
truth from which He will not turn back: “Of the fruit of your body I will set
upon your throne.”  (Psalm 132:10-11)

No matter what comes, the Lord
will fulfill what He promised.  We may
not understand all of the dynamics, but look and see the faithfulness of the
Lord who, from the beginning, has been faithful to those who turn to Him.  Come then and see the goodness of the
Lord.  Be guided by His ways and make
them Your ways.  Abide in the Lord and He
will bear fruit in you.

Lord, I want to know how all of this will work.  I get caught in trying to figure it out when
all I must do is trust You and the truth that You already have it figured
out.  Guide me, O Lord, in the way of
living according to Your will that I would also learn to trust You, especially
when I am unable to understand how it will come to pass.  Lead me into the goodness of Your will.

Lord Jesus, You are the
fulfilment of the promise to David.  You
have come through His lineage and are the One who saves.  Seeing this fruit come to fruition, help me
to trust in the promises You make knowing that one day it shall come to pass as
You have spoken it.  Guide me, O Lord, in
the way You know I need to go.  Let me
not stray from the truth You have revealed.
Amen.

Devotion for Thursday, July 11, 2019

“Arise, O Lord, to Your resting place, You and the ark of Your
strength.  Let Your priests be clothed
with righteousness, and let Your godly ones sing for joy.”  (Psalm 132:8-9)

We either ignore or else lift the Lord to unreachable places.  The Lord is always near and always holy.  Holy is the Lord and worthy of our praise.  Come to the Lord and be in His presence always.  Come and learn from Him what holiness is.  Come and be conformed to Him and His ways.

Lord, You know where my faults lie.  You know the issues I have.  You have given me all the grace I need.  You have called me to go on a journey with You.  Lead me, Lord, to walk the steps I need to walk and go where I need to go.  Bring me close to You that I may abide with You and in You always.  Teach me to sing songs of joy for Your presence, holiness, mercy and grace.

Lord Jesus, You have come to lift up as many as come with You in the journey of faith through the salvation which You alone provide, that all who believe would come into the eternal presence of the Father.  Guide me this day according to the Father’s will to live into the life to which You have called me.  Guide me step by step to learn by Your example, and at Your call, to obey all that You command.  Amen.
