Devotion for Tuesday, February 5, 2019

“Who will bring me into the besieged city? Who will lead me to Edom? Have
not You Yourself, O God, rejected us? And will You not go forth with our
armies, O God? Oh give us help against the adversary, for deliverance by man is
in vain. Through God we will do valiantly, and it is He who shall tread down
our adversaries.” (Psalm 108:10-13)

The times come when we feel that
the Lord is nowhere to be found. Circumstances overwhelm us and we do not see
the hand of the Lord. Come out of this fog of thinking and know that all
history is in the hands of the Lord. He knows the end from the beginning. He
who formed You knows all things and in His redemption you will have life
everlasting. Do not look to the world, but unto the Lord.

Lord, clear my mind to live into the simple truth that You are God and
nothing can take Your place. Help me to understand more clearly the truth of Your
power and purpose that I may walk now and always in Your presence. Lift up my
heart that, no matter the circumstance in which I find myself, I may rejoice in
Your perfect will being accomplished through all that happens around me.

Lord Jesus, You have come to save
us and it is saving that we need. Lead me, O Lord, in the way of truth that I
may now and always live into the salvation You have prepared for those who
believe. Lift up my countenance that I may walk humbly with You my Savior
through all that this world will bring. Guide me in the goodness of Your grace
and mercy that I may abide in You as You abide in me. Amen.
