“Praise the Lord! How blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who greatly delights in His commandments. His descendants will be mighty on earth; the generation of the upright will be blessed.” (Psalm 112:1-2)
Walking in the way of the Lord is the way of blessing. Those walking in the way of wickedness do not prosper. Know that the Lord allows the curses of wickedness to go to the third and fourth generation, but also the blessing of the faithful to carry forward as well. It is the lovingkindness of the LORD that gives blessings rather than curses to those who follow Him. Walk with the Lord in His goodness and be blessed.
Lord, help me not to give in to the temptation of this age to live only for myself. Guide me in Your goodness to know that in You is hope and a future. Lead me to live the kind of life that gives blessings to those who follow afterwards. Through the witness you provide in my life, let others see You at work through what I do and the life I lead. But let me not boast, for You alone are worthy to be praised.
Lord Jesus, You have given the example of humble service. Lead me in the way You would have me walk this day that I may live in the way You would live if You were walking in my shoes. Guide me to be gracious and humble that I may be a blessing to those around me. Teach me the good things I need to know and then help me to put them into practice for the Father’s glory. Amen.
